I found a good fabric for the binding of the jacket in my stash, so last night I finished my McTavished Jacket. What a fun and and easy project. I think next time I will do one with freehand feathers, but I will have to start with a bigger sweatshirt since this one won't close now. Here is the finished product.

Oh my gosh Lori! I just looked at your picture. It's beautiful! 2 Questions: How did you make this? and Do you have a longarm machine or do you have domestic sewing machine? I love it. I have Karen McTavish's books and DVD but haven't had time to practice her techniques. I want to make a jacket like this!
It looks great! I think a jacket would be a good size to practise any kind of quilting on. You could make one from scratch, never mind the sweat shirt. Just be sure to quilt it and then cut it out because it will shrink a bit during the quilting. There are lots of jacket patterns that have binding similar to the one you made.
Looks great! Glad your machine is back!
Hey,
Great jacket! One day I'll get around to making a garment.
I left you a message on Trader's Village about the Eq eagle. Thanks for your help! I would've emailed you, but couldn't find your email.
The jacket looks great! You did a great job.
